In this paper, we use the Wigner function in order to determine the photon number statistics of a heralded single-photon source constructed from a photon-pair source using four-wave mixing in optical fibers. Having this result, we discuss the performance of a quantum key distribution system when this kind of single-photon source is employed.
We study the ability to measure the non-Gaussian character of the single photon Fock states via direct measurements of the photon number statistics of displaced quantum states.
In this paper, the coherent interaction of individual microwave photons with superconducting qubits is presented both for quantum information processing and for novel quantum optics experiments in the circuit quantum electrodynamics (QED) architecture. In the resonant regime we observe the vacuum Rabi mode splitting. In the non-resonant regime we use the dispersive coupling between the qubit and the...
With broad-band optical pumping of Rb 87, we observed stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) between hyperfine ground states, and measured the photon number statistics. Several signal strength dependent factors are also analyzed.
